Vietnam coffee and pepper markets show mixed trends

Agricultural commodity markets in Vietnam show mixed trends for coffee and pepper. As of September 11, 2026, domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands fluctuated between 95,000 and 95,500 VND/kg. While some regions like Dak Lak and Gia Lai remained stable, Dak Nong saw a slight decrease. On international markets, Robusta prices on the London exchange trended upward, with November 2026 contracts rising to 3,472 USD/ton. Conversely, Arabica prices on the New York exchange saw increases across various maturities.

In the pepper market, domestic prices remained stable, ranging from 137,000 to 141,000 VND/kg across key provinces such as Dak Lak and Lam Dong. Vietnam continues to maintain a dominant position in the global pepper trade, particularly in exports to the United States.

Regarding the broader coffee industry, Vietnam remains a global leader in Robusta production, accounting for approximately 40% of the world's supply. However, industry reports highlight challenges in transitioning from volume-based advantages to higher value through improved quality standardization, consistent harvesting practices, and more efficient fertilizer use.
