Community education initiatives launched in Dominican Republic and Mexico
In the Dominican Republic, the Centro Integral para el Desarrollo Local (CIDEL), in coordination with the Amor y Progreso Cultural and Sports Club, celebrated the graduation of a basic broadcasting course titled ‘Descubriendo mi voz’ in the community of Los Ciruelos, Baitoa. The initiative, supported by Fundación Solidaridad, Fundación Balms para la Infancia, and Cooperación Galega, aims to provide youth with professional tools for personal and social development through the School of Art and Leisure, which also offers workshops in painting, dance, and theater.
In Mexico, the XV Ayuntamiento of Los Cabos launched the binational program ‘Puentes de Amistad, Conectando Fronteras’ to promote bilingual education and digital inclusion. Through a collaboration with Alameda County, California, 52 laptops were donated to the Moisés Sáenz Garza Secondary School and the Marisela Escobedo Ortiz Primary School. The program facilitates real-time cultural and linguistic exchanges between students in Los Cabos and students at Junction TK-8 School in California via digital platforms.
