Italy hosts widespread community environmental cleanup initiatives

Various municipalities and organizations across Italy are organizing widespread environmental cleanup and ecological awareness initiatives. These events, many of which align with global campaigns like Legambiente’s ‘Puliamo il Mondo’, involve local citizens, students, and volunteer associations working to protect natural territories and urban spaces.

Key activities include beach cleanups in Riccione and San Ferdinando, forest and valley maintenance in the Valli del Verbano, and urban waste collection in Udine, Cotignola, and Sangiano. In Cerea, the ‘Un Parco per… Tutti!’ event combines environmental care with community engagement, featuring over 40 associations and a Slow Food market. These initiatives aim to foster a sense of civic responsibility and provide hands-on education regarding waste management and biodiversity.
