Community events and environmental cleanups scheduled across Germany

Various community events and environmental initiatives are scheduled across Germany for mid-September 2026.

As part of the annual 'Stadt-Land-Spielt!' non-profit project, board game activities will take place at 444 locations nationwide on September 19 and 20. In Nidderau, the event will be hosted at the St. Maria Verkündigung parish community center on September 20, offering free entry and various game types to promote social connection through play.

Environmental efforts will also take place on September 19 for World Cleanup Day. In Waltershausen, the Bodelschwingh-Hof residence and the 'Buntes Waltershausen' initiative are organizing a trash collection drive starting at 10:00 AM. Similarly, in Maintal, the local volunteer agency is organizing a cleanup focused on forest-edge playgrounds and the Main riverbank from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Maintal event will conclude with a picnic featuring rescued food provided by the Hanau/Main-Kinzig-Kreis food-sharing group.
