Community infrastructure projects inaugurated in Biobío Region

Several community infrastructure projects have been inaugurated in the Biobío Region of Chile to improve public spaces and social cohesion.

In Las Canteras, Quilleco, the Plaza O’Higgins has been renovated through a 144 million peso investment. The project was a collaborative effort involving the Quilleco Municipality, the Biobío Regional Government, Colbún, and the Fundación Huella Local. The renovation focuses on recreation, physical activity, and accessibility, incorporating design elements to ensure inclusion for individuals with different mobility needs.

In Curanilahue, the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism inaugurated the Arturo Pérez Canto Community Center for the Eleuterio Ramírez neighborhood. This project, costing over 119 million pesos, is part of the ‘Quiero Mi Barrio’ program, which has allocated more than 678 million pesos to the area for infrastructure recovery. The center is intended to serve as a hub for social and cultural activities across different generations.
