Community initiatives scheduled for Mostar and Međimurje in 2026
Various community and educational initiatives are scheduled to take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia during the autumn of 2026.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the international ‘40 Days for Life’ autumn campaign will run from September 23 to November 1, 2026. The initiative is expanding in Herzegovina to include Mostar and Čapljina. In Mostar, prayer vigils will be held daily from 8:00 to 20:00 in front of the University Clinical Hospital. The campaign provides psychological and medical support to women in crisis, collaborating with the ‘Mother Krispina’ Safe House in Međugorje to offer housing and essential needs for mothers and children.
In Croatia, the 20th Lifelong Learning Week, themed ‘Learning for All Generations,’ will be observed from September 28 to October 4, 2026. In the Međimurje County, the program is extended from September 23 to October 9, coordinated by the Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec. The regional program includes free workshops and lectures involving various local institutions, such as the Međimurje Polytechnic and Genesis Space Flight Laboratories, focusing on topics ranging from career development to green business financing.
