Community Marathons Scheduled in Mexico and Mauritius

The traditional Carrera del Carmen will take place on Thursday, 16 July, at 6:00 p.m. in Mexico. Organized by Hugo Colunga, the five‑kilometre race starts in the parking lot of the Presidencia building along the river, proceeds westward, returns to the Díaz Ordaz viaduct, and finishes on Avenida 16 de Septiembre. The first hundred finishers will receive medals and early registrants a commemorative shirt celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Iglesia Del Carmen. Registration is handled through the parish offices.

In Pérez, Mauritius, a marathon is set for Sunday, 26 July, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Avenida 9 de Julio (between Avenida Belgrano and Medrano). The event offers three distances – a 2 km recreational run, and competitive 5 km and 10 km races – with locker‑room facilities for participants. Kit distribution on race day is limited to runners living more than 60 km away, who must present ID. Registrations remain open both in person at the Dirección de Desarrollo Deportivo and online via asistire.com.ar, with a discount for early sign‑ups using a specific code.
