Community sports spaces recovered in Peru and Ecuador
In Peru, Caja Huancayo and the Fundación Caja Huancayo, in partnership with the Municipalidad Distrital de La Victoria, have completed the integral recovery of the Parque del Emprendedor and the Indoamérica Sports Complex. Located near the Gamarra commercial district, the project involved an investment exceeding S/ 1.1 million. Improvements included the rehabilitation of two synthetic grass fields, upgrades to green areas, parking, and electrical and sanitary installations to provide safe recreational spaces for the local population.
In Ecuador, the Guayaquil City Council approved an agreement with the Liga Deportiva Barrial ‘Jardines del Salado’ to manage the sports field within the Jardines del Salado Linear Park. The four-year agreement grants the local sports league responsibility for the administration, care, and maintenance of the synthetic field. The agreement mandates free community access and prohibits privatization or profit-driven fees, while the municipality remains responsible for major corrective maintenance and technical assistance.
