Como mountain rescue teams conduct emergency training drill
The Alpine and Speleological Rescue XIX Lariana Delegation recently conducted a mountain rescue drill at the Triangolo Lariano station in Como. The exercise involved twenty-three rescuers, including three technical instructors and three medical professionals, to test skills and equipment in rugged environments.
The simulation featured two technical-medical scenarios using specialized devices such as the NEXT extraction tool for recovering injured persons in difficult terrain. Rescuers practiced movement and immobilization techniques, specifically utilizing a stretcher to navigate a steep channel at Sasso Malascarpa. The training aimed to ensure rapid and effective responses by allowing new technicians to gain practical experience alongside veteran colleagues.
