Como to host musical tribute for Francesco Guccini

The Circolo Arci Xanadù is organizing a collective musical tribute to honor the late Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini, who passed away on August 6 in Pavana. The event, titled ‘Una Sonada, dalla via Emilia alla via Varesina’, will take place on Friday, September 25, at 7:00 PM at Spazio Gloria in Como.

Designed as a participatory gathering, the event invites anyone to bring a guitar or their voice to perform Guccini’s songs. No reservations are required, and the organizers will provide the necessary support for participants. This initiative follows a trend of spontaneous musical commemorations across various Italian cities, including Bologna, reflecting the deep cultural and political connection between the artist and his multi-generational audience.

Guccini’s work is noted for its use of irony and a lyrical style that invites interpretation through nuance and doubt. The evening will be hosted by Teo Manzo and Alessio Brunitalti and will include a Modenese aperitif. Admission is free, with donations accepted to support the ‘Gloria M’ campaign.
