Rețele Electrice România invests 86 million lei in power grid modernization
Rețele Electrice România is launching an 86 million lei project to modernize four 110 kV high-voltage lines in Constanța and Tulcea. Co-financed by the Sustainable Development and Just Transition Program, the project aims to double transport capacity to better integrate renewable energy sources into the distribution network.
In other energy developments, the Turceni energy group within the Complexul Energetic Oltenia has been restored to service following a recent breakdown. This return to operation increases the available capacity for the complex, which remains a major coal-based electricity producer in Romania.
Meanwhile, Distribuție Oltenia has announced several scheduled power outages across the Argeș region between late September and early October 2026. These interruptions are intended for maintenance work to improve safety, continuity, and energy quality for residential and economic consumers.
