Compromís and PSPV gather at Aplec del Puig ahead of elections
Valencian nationalist and leftist forces gathered at the traditional Aplec del Puig to mark the start of a new political cycle ahead of the November 29 general elections. The event featured a notable presence from the PSPV, following an agreement between Compromís and Esquerra Unida to present a joint candidacy for the Senate.
During the assembly, Més-Compromís leaders Joan Baldoví and Àgueda Micó called for a ‘civic revolt’ to counter the influence of the PP and Vox. They emphasized the need to strengthen Valencian representation in the Congress and Senate while building an alternative to the current regional government. Baldoví criticized the current administration for cuts to public services and perceived attacks on the Valencian language.
The gathering, which commemorates King James I, serves as a symbolic launchpad for the upcoming electoral cycle and the 2027 regional elections.
