Compromís negotiates autonomous left-wing coalition in Valencia

The political group Compromís is currently engaged in complex negotiations to form a broad, autonomous left-wing coalition for the upcoming elections in the Valencian region. The goal is to establish a ‘100% Valencian’ front that operates independently of the shifting alliances and disagreements occurring within the national Spanish left.

Leadership has held a series of meetings with various progressive forces, including Verds, Més, Iniciativa, Esquerra Unida, Podem, and the Valencian federation of ERC (ERPV). These efforts aim to prevent the fragmentation of the left-wing vote and avoid having multiple competing ballots to the left of the PSPV. The negotiations follow recent political instability at the state level involving Sumar and Podemos.
