Comurg repurposes fallen trees into urban benches in Goiânia

The Companhia de Urbanização de Goiânia (Comurg) is repurposing fallen trees from public areas into urban furniture. The company's carpentry workshop produces up to six benches per day by processing logs and branches that would otherwise be discarded.

Each bench is constructed from seven pieces of wood. The production process involves selecting, cutting, treating, and preparing the timber into planks. Between January 2025 and April 2026, Comurg installed or renovated 2,653 benches across various public spaces in Goiânia, contributing to urban landscaping and environmental sustainability.
