Comurg to purchase 2 million seedlings for Goiânia landscaping

The Companhia de Urbanização de Goiânia (Comurg) is preparing a procurement process to acquire up to 2 million ornamental flower seedlings. This initiative aims to expand the ‘Projeto Florescer’, which focuses on installing flower beds in squares, roundabouts, and central medians across the capital.

Currently, the project covers fewer than 60 locations. Comurg intends to increase this number to 150 sites by 2027, with further expansion planned for the following year. The electronic bidding process is scheduled for September 28 via the Licitar Digital platform.

To improve efficiency, the tender requires seedlings to be certified by the National Registry of Seeds and Seedlings (Renasem) with traceable origins. Comurg expects this requirement to increase the plant survival rate from the current 70%–80% to between 92% and 97%. By selecting more durable species, the company aims to reduce the need for frequent replanting and lower overall costs during the 12-month contract period.
