CONAGUA advances water supply projects in San Luis Potosí and Baja California

In San Luis Potosí, the state water commission and the federal agency CONAGUA are upgrading the El Peaje reservoir system. Work includes constructing an aqueduct to convey water to the San José reservoir, building a new potabilizing plant for the community of Escalerillas, and reviewing the El Realito concession to protect public interests. Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona’s administration says the project will diversify sources and improve metropolitan water reliability.

In Baja California’s agricultural region of San Quintín, CONAGUA has begun drilling wells in six communities to quadruple potable‑water capacity. The wells are part of a Justice Plan for agricultural workers and an integrated water‑supply and sanitation program that also envisions a desalination plant and expanded distribution networks, addressing longstanding deficits for local farm families.
