Conagua invests 175 million pesos in Pátzcuaro wastewater plants

The National Water Commission (Conagua) Michoacán delegation is rehabilitating six wastewater treatment plants in the Lake Pátzcuaro basin to combat long-standing pollution and restore biodiversity. The project involves a total investment of 175,624,000 pesos.

Luis Roberto Arias Reyes, the Conagua delegate for Michoacán, reported that the rehabilitation of the Las Garzas plant is complete, following a 26,044,000 peso investment. The Janitzio plant has reached 80 percent progress with a budget of 19,670,000 pesos, while the San Pedrito plant is 19 percent complete with a total investment of 93,960,000 pesos.

Work is expected to begin soon on the remaining three plants located in San Andrés Ziróndaro, Quiroga, and Tzintzuntán, which will share a combined investment of 35,950,000 pesos.
