Concepción del Uruguay hosts mental health and disability inclusion initiatives

The Municipality of Concepción del Uruguay has organized a series of initiatives focused on mental health and disability inclusion. On August 20, a training seminar titled “Mental Health and Disability: how to accompany development and build inclusive environments” was held at the Carlos María Scelzi Municipal Auditorium. The event, attended by over 300 participants, was organized by the local Secretariat of Health, Disability, and Human Rights in collaboration with the Argentine Association of Psychiatrists (APSA).

Mayor José Lauritto emphasized the importance of addressing community demands regarding mental health, specifically noting issues such as depression, anxiety, and social isolation. The seminar aimed to provide a space for professional exchange and reflection on integral approaches to disability and mental health.

Following the seminar, the municipality is hosting the second “Dale Play” matinée on August 21. This recreational event is specifically designed for youth and adolescents with disabilities, providing a themed musical and dance space to promote social integration and peer bonding.
