Concepción del Uruguay community programs

In late July 2026, the municipality of Concepción del Uruguay expanded its portfolio of public training and outreach events. On 25 July, the city launched an introductory course on comprehensive care for older adults in partnership with the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos, filling all 120 seats and prompting plans for a new cohort next year. The same municipal authority announced a free youth mental-health day scheduled for 14 August, featuring talks by mental-health creator Sofía Calvo and philosopher-writer Eial Moldavsky, plus workshops on anxiety, depression, bullying, self-harm and digital well-being.

A few days later, on 28 July, the Universidad de Concepción del Uruguay introduced a new Diplomatura in Operation, Maintenance and Technology of Agricultural Machinery, aimed at operators, technicians, rural workers and entrepreneurs. Supported by municipal, provincial and national agencies, the program will run eight in-person modules at the university’s Agro-Technological Center in Urdinarrain. Simultaneously, the municipal government hosted a mobile “Camión de Innovación Agropecuaria” that visited the city on 29-30 July, presenting agro-production technologies, AI-driven equipment and sustainable practices to secondary and university students.

Building on these social initiatives, the municipality held a training seminar on 20 August titled “Mental Health and Disability: how to accompany development and build inclusive environments” at the Carlos María Scelzi Municipal Auditorium. Organized by the local Secretariat of Health, Disability, and Human Rights in collaboration with the Argentine Association of Psychiatrists (APSA), the event drew over 300 participants. Mayor José Lauritto noted the importance of addressing community concerns regarding depression, anxiety, and social isolation. Following this, the municipality scheduled the second “Dale Play” matinée for 21 August, a recreational event designed to promote social integration for youth and adolescents with disabilities.
