Four freight wagons derail and one overturns at Constanța Palas station

A freight train derailed at the Palas station in Constanța, with four wagons leaving the tracks and one wagon overturning. The incident occurred around 14:25 and involved wagons loaded with sulphur. No passengers were on board and there were no injuries reported. Railway officials deployed specialist teams to assess the damage, secure the site and investigate the cause. Operations on the line were temporarily disrupted while the wagons were cleared and the track inspected, but passenger services were not affected.

The Regional Railway Branch of Constanța confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the factors that led to the derailment and to restore normal freight traffic as soon as possible.
