Condor to end free water service on short-haul flights
Condor has announced that it will stop providing free water to passengers on short-haul flights starting September 1, 2026. This change follows testing conducted between February and March 2026 on ultra-short routes, such as Munich–Frankfurt and Frankfurt–Zürich.
The airline stated that the limited flight time on these routes makes in-flight service challenging. According to an internal letter, providing water only upon request led to a 'domino effect' of sequential orders, and pouring from large bottles was deemed 'less professional.'
Under the new model, water, coffee, and tea will be available for purchase. This policy specifically targets 'Level 1' flights with a block time of less than one hour and 50 minutes. Additionally, Condor plans to adjust its meal offerings on short and medium-haul routes starting in November 2026.
