Condor airline short-haul service policy changes

German airline Condor announced it will end free water service on short-haul flights beginning September 1, 2026. The policy targets ‘Level 1’ flights with a block time of less than one hour and 50 minutes, including routes such as Frankfurt to Berlin and Frankfurt to Zurich.

The airline noted that the decision follows testing conducted in early 2026. Officials explained that on ultra-short routes, providing water only upon request created a ‘domino effect’ of sequential orders, and they deemed pouring from large bottles to be ‘less professional.’

Under the new model, passengers will be required to pay for water, coffee, and tea. Condor also indicated plans to adjust meal offerings on short and medium-haul routes starting in November 2026.
