Confcooperative joins Risò International Rice Festival in Vercelli

Confcooperative Agroalimentare e Pesca Piemonte will participate in the second edition of the Risò International Rice Festival, held in Vercelli from September 11 to 13. The event serves as a key gathering for producers, institutions, and international stakeholders within the rice sector.

Piedmont remains a critical hub for the industry, containing over 119,000 hectares of rice paddies, which accounts for approximately half of Italy's total rice-growing surface. Confcooperative's regional branch represents about 150 members with a production value of nearly 15 million euros in the rice sector alone.

Fabrizio Risso, president of Confcooperative Agroalimentare e Pesca Piemonte, noted that the festival provides a platform to address complex challenges facing the industry, including climate change, water management, and market instability. A dedicated seminar will focus on these issues, alongside a showcooking event to promote cooperative rice production.
