Congress announces candidates for West Bengal bypolls

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced its candidates for upcoming by-elections in West Bengal. Milan Pradhan will contest the Nandigram Assembly Constituency in East Midnapore, while Mohd Abdullahil Kafi will represent the party in the Rejinagar Assembly Constituency in Murshidabad.

The bypolls are scheduled for October 6, with vote counting and results expected on October 9. The elections must be concluded by October 11.

The Nandigram vacancy arose after Suvendu Adhikari won both Nandigram and Bhabanipur in the recent assembly elections, choosing to retain Bhabanipur. The Rejinagar seat became vacant after Humayun Kabir, elected as an Aam Janata Unnayan Party candidate, chose to retain the Naoda constituency.
