Congress leaders criticize Punjab government over LPU incident

Congress MPs Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa have criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab following an incident at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara.

Channi alleged that the police failed to register an FIR following a reported rape incident and accused the administration of sponsoring hooliganism against students. He further claimed that the state government is attempting to undermine the university following the entry of LPU owner Ashok Mittal into the BJP.

Randhawa expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, noting that the government's delayed response led to prolonged student protests and highway blockades. He suggested that the state's security situation is poor across various districts and institutions.
