Congress MP Imran Masood has urged the Samajwadi Party (SP) to immediately finalize an alliance for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Masood stated that if an agreement is not reached, the Congress will proceed with its own independent preparations. He emphasized that the Congress is essential for a successful challenge against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and cited Rahul Gandhi’s leadership as a key factor.

Separately, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced an ambitious target during a state executive meeting. Yadav stated the party aims to increase its vote count by 27,000 in every assembly seat during the 2027 elections to reduce the BJP's influence. During his address, Yadav also criticized the state government's handling of law and order.

Masood further cautioned voters against the AIMIM, suggesting that the political presence of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party ultimately benefits the BJP.
