CONMEBOL redesigns Libertadores champions badge with club-specific patches
CONMEBOL will introduce a new, fully personalized champions badge for clubs that have previously won the Copa Libertadores, starting from the round of 16 in the 2026 edition. The new shield‑shaped patch replaces the generic gold badge and incorporates each club’s official colours, the iconic trophy, the total number of titles, and the specific years the titles were won. Early images show customized versions for Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Palmeiras and Fluminense, with Boca’s badge displaying its six titles in blue and gold and listing the winning years.
The redesign will be applied only when a club qualifies for the knockout stage. Boca Juniors, for example, will not see the new patch until it reaches the round of 16—potentially in the 2027 tournament if the Argentine side qualifies through the Copa Sudamericana, the domestic league, the Copa Argentina or the overall table.
