Consorcio Vega Sierra Elvira exceeds 40% execution of water infrastructure plan
The Consorcio Vega Sierra Elvira and the water service manager Aguasvira, which is partially owned by Hidralia, have reported that their Hydraulic Infrastructure Improvement Investment Plan has exceeded 40% execution.
Initiated in 2024, the program aims to modernize the integrated water cycle across 22 municipalities. With an assigned budget of €14.5 million, more than €6.2 million has been invested to date, representing an execution rate of over 42%. The works prioritize the renewal of urban supply networks to reduce losses caused by aging and obsolete infrastructure, using historical repair records to guide interventions.
Upon completion, the plan will have replaced approximately 35 kilometers of potable water pipelines. To date, more than 55 actions have been completed, including the functional improvement of the El Chaparral Water Treatment Plant and various network renewals in Albolote, Alfacar, and Atarfe.
