Vega Sierra Elvira water infrastructure investment

Overview

The Consorcio Vega Sierra Elvira and water service manager Aguasvira have reported that their Hydraulic Infrastructure Improvement Investment Plan has exceeded 40% execution.

Initiated in 2024 with a budget of €14.5 million, the program aims to modernize the integrated water cycle across 22 municipalities. To date, more than €6.2 million has been invested, representing an execution rate of over 42%. The project prioritizes renewing urban supply networks to reduce losses caused by aging infrastructure.

Upon completion, the plan will have replaced approximately 35 kilometers of potable water pipelines. More than 55 actions have been completed so far, including functional improvements to the El Chaparral Water Treatment Plant and network renewals in Albolote, Alfacar, and Atarfe.
