Constanța port drone explosion triggers evacuations along Romanian coast

On Friday a maritime drone, identified as a Magura type used by the Ukrainian army, self‑detonated at about 10:30 a.m. in the civilian Port of Constanța, near the Romanian Maritime Rescue Agency headquarters. No casualties were reported. DSU chief Raed Arafat warned that additional drones might be present and ordered a preventive evacuation of a one‑kilometre zone along the coastline in Constanța and Tulcea counties, issuing Ro Alert messages for both regions. He activated the Red Intervention Plan, deploying 80 emergency responders, fire trucks, ambulances, a SMURD helicopter for reconnaissance and a Black Hawk from Tulcea to scan the area. Authorities continue to monitor the situation for any further threats.
