Romania pushes forward major road and stadium projects in Găești and Constanța
Construction of the Găești bypass ring road entered a new phase as steel girders were installed on the first bridge of the alternate route. The 89 million‑lei investment, fully funded by Dâmbovița County Council, aims to relieve city traffic, improve road safety and stimulate regional economic growth.
In Constanța, the planned "Gheorghe Hagi" stadium project was revised, raising the total cost to above €100 million. Engineers switched to a more expensive piled‑foundation solution because of sandy soil and relocated the arena a few metres to avoid an existing pipeline. The redesigned venue will hold 18,200 spectators, feature extensive training facilities and a range of commercial and conference spaces, with the local authorities covering 25 % of the budget.
