Constantin Brâncuși 150th Anniversary Marked by European Exhibitions and London Concert

The art world commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși (1876‑1957) with a series of high‑profile events across Europe. After a recent showing at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, a retrospective of Brâncuși’s work opened in March 2026 at Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie and will run through August, highlighting his influence on modern sculpture.

In London, the London Philharmonic Orchestra presented a world‑premiere concert titled “Debut Sounds: Hidden Realities” at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on 15–16 July 2026. Five young composers, under the guidance of resident composer Sir George Benjamin and conductor William Cole, transformed the forms of Brâncuși’s sculptures into orchestral pieces, offering a musical interpretation of his abstract style.
