Constantin Brâncuși commemorations held in Romania and Estonia

Various cultural events and exhibitions are being held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of sculptor Constantin Brâncuși.

In Romania, the itinerant photo-documentary exhibition ‘Brâncuși. The Way to Light’ is being presented at Bánffy Castle in Răscruci, exploring the artist's journey from traditional roots to modern art. Additionally, a series of events is taking place in Bucharest, including the launch of the book ‘The Muses of Brâncuși’ by Doina Lemny and a thematic exhibition titled ‘Brâncuși and His Muses’ at Art Safari. These initiatives highlight lesser-known aspects of his life, such as his relationship with Swiss dancer Marthe Lebherz.

In Estonia, a pop-up exhibition titled ‘Dimension and Thought’ has opened at the Tallinn TV Tower. The showcase features a dialogue between the monumental works of Brâncuși’s Târgu Jiu ensemble and the contemporary sculptures of three students from the Estonian Academy of Arts.
