Poland's Port Polska construction to start in September

The government‑backed Port Polska airport project, previously known as the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK), will begin ground‑works in September after land expropriation procedures are completed by the end of August. A contract with construction firm Budimex is slated to be signed next week to carry out the first phase, which focuses on site preparation and foundation work.

Located in Baranów between Warsaw and Łódź, the megahub is planned to serve up to 34 million passengers annually and will be integrated with a high‑speed rail line linking Warsaw, Port Polska and Łódź. The total estimated cost is 131.7 billion złoty, making it one of Poland’s largest infrastructure investments. The airport is expected to receive its first passengers in the second half of 2032, coinciding with the opening of the initial high‑speed rail segment.
