Consumer price trends show mixed results in Serbia and Republika Srpska

Market reports from Serbia and Republika Srpska indicate varying trends in consumer goods and services. In Serbia, fruit and vegetable markets have seen mixed price movements. While supply has improved in some areas like the Belgrade wholesale market, sales remain weak. Price decreases were noted for peaches, grapes, and spinach, whereas apples, apricots, and cucumbers saw price increases. Regional markets in Požarevac, Pančevo, Leskovac, and Pirot also reported fluctuating prices for various produce.

In Republika Srpska, July data shows significant shifts in living costs. Public transport fares saw the highest increase at 38.9% compared to the previous year, followed by household water services (22%) and diesel (20.8%). Conversely, hard yellow cheese prices dropped by 28.8%, and milk prices fell by 26.8%. The annual inflation rate in Republika Srpska was recorded at 3.6% for July, while the monthly consumer price index saw a slight decrease of 0.6% compared to June.
