Consumer tests evaluate hair dryers and hairsprays

Recent consumer tests in Germany have evaluated various hair care tools and styling products. In a hair dryer comparison conducted by IMTEST, the Shark SpeedStyle Pro Flex was named the overall winner due to its balanced performance, airflow, and temperature control. The Xiaomi Mi Ionic Hair Dryer H300 was identified as the best value for money.

Separately, Öko-Test evaluated 29 hairspray products, finding that while two-thirds are generally recommended, only four received the highest rating. The top-rated products, which were all natural cosmetics, included Alverde, Alterra Volumen-Haarspray Bio-Papaya, Bioturm, and Eco Cosmetics. These winners were noted for being free of plastic compounds. The study also flagged the presence of Galaxolid, a synthetic musk fragrance, in certain brand-name products such as L’Oréal Studio Line spurenlos FX Styling Spray.
