The Hague: Man seriously injured in police-related traffic accident

A man was seriously injured on the Vaillantlaan in The Hague on Saturday evening, October 31, after running into the road during a police intervention. Officers were on the scene to speak with the man regarding reports of incomprehensible behavior.

While the interaction was occurring, the man suddenly ran into the path of a passing car near the intersection with Frans Halsstraat. The driver was unable to avoid the collision, leaving the man with severe injuries. Emergency services, including two ambulances and the Mobile Medical Team (MMT), responded to the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital using the ‘scoop and run’ principle to ensure rapid medical treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident. The Vaillantlaan was closed in both directions between De Put and De Hoefkade while authorities conducted their inquiry.
