Contraloría General to publish public audit reports in Dominican Republic

The Contraloría General de la República (CGR) will begin publishing the results of audits conducted on public institutions starting Friday, October 2, at 4:00 p.m. This initiative follows instructions from President Luis Abinader to increase transparency and public access to fiscalization processes.

General Comptroller Geraldo Espinosa Pérez stated that while the law does not mandate the publication of these internal audit reports, the decision aims to strengthen accountability. The reports will be released progressively and will cover the period from August 2020 to December 2025.

Institutions currently undergoing audits by the Cámara de Cuentas will be excluded from this specific publication phase. This move marks a significant unprecedented step in the country for the wide-scale disclosure of internal government audit findings.
