Control Resonant performance drops significantly on RTX 30 series with DLSS 5

The PC port of Control Resonant has received praise for its optimization and visual fidelity, though technical benchmarks reveal significant performance issues for users on older hardware. While the game is noted for scaling well to handheld devices like the Xbox Ally X and offering a stunning path tracing implementation, the use of DLSS 5 technology creates a severe bottleneck for Nvidia RTX 30 series graphics cards.

Technical evaluations conducted at 1920x1080 resolution with Ultra settings and ray tracing show that the computational demands of DLSS 5 overwhelm second-generation Tensor cores. For example, an RTX 3060 averaged only 8 frames per second, while higher-tier models like the RTX 3080 and 3080 Ti averaged approximately 16 frames per second. Specialists suggest disabling the neural rendering setting on these legacy architectures to maintain playable frame rates.
