Cooper Flagg draws comparisons to NBA legends

NBA rising star Cooper Flagg is drawing significant comparisons to league legends as he enters his sophomore season with the Dallas Mavericks. Following a Rookie of the Year campaign where he averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, Flagg continues to attract attention for his versatile two-way play.

Kyrie Irving recently highlighted Flagg’s competitive nature and leadership potential, noting similarities to the early career of Kevin Durant. Irving emphasized Flagg’s ability to act as both a complementary piece and a statistical leader.

However, not all observers are ready for such high-level comparisons. Former All-Star Tim Hardaway expressed skepticism regarding links to Larry Bird, stating that while Flagg possesses superior athleticism, he argued that the comparison goes too far given Bird’s historic dominance and shooting ability.
