Cooperativa Obrera opens Supercoop stores in Buenos Aires and San Martín
Cooperativa Obrera, Argentina's leading consumer cooperative, is expanding its Supercoop supermarket chain. It will open two new stores in Buenos Aires—one in Balvanera (Perón 2070) and another in Saavedra (Manzanares 3100)—before the end of the year, bringing its city network to four locations. Mariano Glas, manager of the cooperative’s supermarkets, said, “We are not looking for twenty locations, just these four supermarkets.”
Earlier, the cooperative opened a larger 500‑square‑metre branch in San Martín de los Andes, adding 22 jobs and bringing its local presence to four branches. Regional manager Cristian Navarro explained that the new facility allows the cooperative to “provide a more comfortable and efficient service” to the growing number of customers in the town.
