Coordinated security operations in Guerrero reduce crime and seize weapons

From July 27 to August 2, state and federal agencies in Guerrero carried out coordinated security actions. The operations, involving the State Public Security Secretariat, the National Defense Secretariat, the Navy, the National Guard, the Federal Police and the State Attorney General's Office, resulted in 24 arrests (10 for federal crimes, 14 for common crimes), the seizure of 202 marine turtle products, 53 knives, three phones, five vehicles and five motorcycles, and the recovery of additional vehicles and motorcycles.

The state prosecutor reported 110 arrest warrants executed, 24 flagrant detentions, 125 judicial files opened and 32 convictions for July. Governor Maru Campos highlighted a 44% reduction in homicides over the 2021‑2026 period and a 63% increase in investigative files compared with the previous administration. In July, 809 people were detained across the state, and a property used to make explosive devices was dismantled. Overall, the coordinated effort aims to strengthen public safety and address crime drivers in Guerrero.
