Copa Airlines passengers arrested after incident on flight to Argentina

Two passengers, a 54-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, were arrested following an incident on a Copa Airlines flight from Panama City to Rosario, Argentina, during the night of May 8–9.

Reports indicate the two strangers, who met during the flight, were accused of engaging in sexual activity in business class under a blanket. While some initial reports suggested a child witnessed the act, a witness testified that the six-year-old child traveling behind them was asleep at the time.

Upon landing, airport security police boarded the aircraft, and passengers were instructed to remain seated due to what was described as a “national security case.” The two individuals were removed from the plane and released several hours later. No charges have been filed.
