Brazilian municipalities implement weather-related infrastructure measures

Various municipalities in Brazil are responding to weather-related challenges through emergency repairs and preventive infrastructure measures. In Votuporanga, teams were mobilized to clear fallen trees and repair traffic signals following strong winds. Similarly, Rio Claro experienced flooding, power outages, and fallen trees due to heavy rain and wind, with rainfall levels exceeding September averages.

To mitigate future risks, several cities have implemented proactive strategies. Araxá is intensifying maintenance on rural roads by constructing water containment structures to prevent erosion. Paranavaí has placed its agriculture department on standby to respond to potential storm damage on rural routes. In Umuarama, the local government and Copel have launched a joint initiative to prune trees near electrical lines to prevent outages caused by El Niño-related weather patterns. Additionally, Salvador has conducted nearly 20,000 preventive tree prunings to ensure urban safety and vegetation health.
