Copel initiates post and line cleanup projects in Pato Branco and Nova Santa Rosa

In Pato Branco, the consumer protection agency (Procon) attended a meeting with the municipal hall and the electricity concessionaire Copel on 17 June to monitor a plan for regularizing the city’s utility poles and shared‑post infrastructure. Copel presented a schedule that divides the 13,746 poles into six zones, with work slated to begin at the end of July. About 871 poles (roughly 6.3%) show technical irregularities such as improperly installed cables, loose wires or low‑height attachments. The initiative will prioritize safety‑critical faults, notify companies that use the poles for telecom services, and include actions such as installing spacers and removing approximately 500 kg of stray wiring on Avenida Tupi.

In nearby Nova Santa Rosa, Copel Agro organized a pruning and vegetation‑management campaign involving roughly 80 workers. Beginning 17 June, teams performed trimming, mowing and clearing near distribution lines to reduce fire risk and improve supply reliability. The effort was coordinated with the mayor, vice‑mayor, municipal chamber and local agricultural and rural‑workers unions, and will continue through 18 June across multiple districts of the municipality.
