Copenhagen provides free theater tickets to 30,000 children

The Copenhagen Municipality has re‑introduced the "En Til Alle" (One for All) programme, allowing roughly 30,000 children from day‑care centres, kindergartens and schools to attend a professional theatre performance each year at no cost. The initiative is funded with DKK 1.4 million for 2026 and is intended to continue through 2027. Cultural, leisure and citizen‑service mayor Christopher Røhl said the scheme offers an alternative to growing screen time, describing theatre as “wilder and more fun” and a way for children to experience collective laughter and suspense. Youth mayor Jakob Næsager added that the programme supports children’s cultural development and the city’s ambition to be a cultural capital. Participating institutions can choose which of the many Copenhagen theatres to visit, with ticket sales managed by Scenit.
