Copersucar posts record profit and plans higher 2026/27 sugar and ethanol sales

Brazil's Copersucar, the world's largest sugar trader, reported a record net profit of R$ 631 million for the 2025/26 harvest, a 56.9% rise from the previous cycle, with revenue reaching R$ 65.8 billion. Sales volumes hit new highs, with 17 million tonnes of sugar and 21 billion litres of ethanol sold, supporting an estimated avoidance of 30 million tonnes of CO₂. The company also generated 6.5 TWh of renewable electricity from bagasse and ended the season with a cash surplus of R$ 607 million.

President Tomás Manzano said, "The combination of financial discipline, risk management, robust governance and deep market knowledge allows us to maintain consistent growth." Looking ahead, Copersucar expects to increase cane milling to over 125 million tonnes in the 2026/27 season and raise sugar and ethanol sales despite potential El Niño‑related weather disruptions. Manzano added, "We see demand growth, a slightly larger harvest, and with new mills we will have larger volumes."
