Copersucar Posts Record R$631 Million Profit as Sugar and Ethanol Volumes Surge

Copersucar, Brazil's leading sugar and ethanol trader, closed the 2025/26 harvest with a net profit of R$631 million, a 56.9% increase from the previous year. Net revenue rose 5.5% to R$65.8 billion.

The cooperative moved a record 17 million tonnes of sugar – 15 million tonnes internationally through Alvean and the remainder domestically – and shipped 21 billion litres of ethanol, the highest volume ever recorded. Associated mills processed 108 million tonnes of sugarcane, up 0.9% year‑on‑year. Renewable energy generation from bagasse reached 6.5 GWh, and the group ended the season with cash of R$607 million against a net debt of R$301 million.

CEO Tomás Manzano said, "This result demonstrates the robustness of our business model," adding that the firm’s diversified operations and disciplined financial management provided flexibility to face varying market scenarios. The cooperative also expects higher cane processing volumes in the next harvest and aims to expand sugar sourced from non‑member mills.
