Copocyt San Luis Potosí scientific research innovation science scholarships

The Potosino Council of Science and Technology (Copocyt) celebrated its 30th anniversary in San Luis Potosí, marking three decades of promoting scientific and technological innovation in the state.

During the commemoration, officials announced an investment of 130 million pesos, sourced from electoral fines, which will be allocated to scientific projects and scholarships. The event, attended by academic, scientific, and business leaders, highlighted Copocyt’s role as a strategic link between research and regional development.

Key initiatives mentioned include the work of the Potosina Women's Network for Science to increase female visibility in the sector, and the integration of scientific outreach into the Potosino Science Prize and the State Journalism Prize. Copocyt is currently led by Rosalba Medina Rivera.
