Copper theft on high-speed rail line near Ceccano
Unknown individuals stole approximately 100 meters of copper cable from the high-speed railway line near Ceccano. The theft occurred around 3:00 AM on Sunday, October 4, near the railway communication point in via Badia.
The theft caused an interruption in the electrical power supply, triggering an alarm that prompted an immediate response from the Carabinieri of Frosinone and Castro dei Volsci. Upon arrival, authorities found no suspects on the scene. A subsequent inspection conducted with a railway technician confirmed that the cable had been removed from the even track heading toward Rome.
Railway technicians worked to restore power and ensure the regular resumption of service. Carabinieri have launched an investigation and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area to identify those responsible.
